Spring has arrived, and when we say spring, we think of freshness and renewal. It's the perfect time to give your home a fresh look by doing the famous "spring cleaning." But while you're at it, why not take the opportunity to breathe new life into your space by adding some more summery decorative touches? In this article, I offer you some tips to help you accomplish this dual mission with ease!

THE BEGINNING: THE BIG HOUSEHOLD

Before diving into decoration, it is essential to do a good cleaning. Open the windows to let your house breathe, then put on your favorite playlist and let's go!

Get rid of the clutter
Over time, we accumulate a lot of things: clothes we no longer wear, items we keep just in case, and sometimes even items we had forgotten existed. This is the perfect time to do a good sorting of your belongings. One method that I find particularly effective is to separate everything into three categories: keep, give away, and throw away/recycle. You could also add a sell category and take the opportunity to save some money!

Time for cleaning
It's time to change your winter mat at the entrance, wash the windows, vacuum behind the furniture that hasn't moved in a long time, and scrub the floors well. Pay special attention to often-forgotten places, such as baseboards, the tops of cabinets, and door handles. It's also the perfect opportunity to clean the inside of your refrigerator and oven. Don't hesitate to make a list and divide the tasks for a more efficient cleaning!

Refresh the textiles
Wash your curtains, cushion covers, and rugs to restore their shine and freshness. Take the opportunity to store away winter textiles and bring out those in brighter and lighter colors to add a touch of renewal to your interior.

SPRING DECORATION TIME

Once your home is clean and tidy, it's time to focus on decorating to welcome the spring season in style.

Bet on colors
Spring is synonymous with bright colors. Introduce touches of yellow, green, pink, or blue into your decor through cushions, illustrations, or small decorative objects. There's no need to repaint or change everything; simple little touches here and there are enough to bring a breath of fresh air to your space.

Bring nature indoors
Nothing beats plants for infusing a spring atmosphere into your home. Choose easy-to-maintain indoor plants, such as succulents, ferns, or flowering plants, to add a touch of greenery to your decor.

Change your seasonal decoration
For example, replace your winter-scented candles with more summery fragrances. If you have floral arrangements or dried herb bouquets on your tables and shelves, it's also a good time to refresh them with seasonal flowers.

If you don't want to spend on new decorations but still want a change, you can simply move your furniture to create a new dynamic. And if you love DIY, why not give a second life to some elements of your decor by personalizing them yourself?

Here you go! You now have all my tips. Above all, don't let the magnitude of the task discourage you. My last piece of advice: take it step by step, focusing on one room or task at a time. You'll see, it will seem much simpler that way!
