Too often, I have found myself talking about interior decoration with someone and being told, "I don’t really have any decor at home because I don’t know how to decorate," or, "I have no ideas, I don’t know what to do for decor." If this is also your case, well, I have a few suggestions for you! Obviously, I’m not talking about major renovations, but rather a few ideas so that you can add a little design touch to your rooms.
1- Plants
Plants are a beautiful addition to bring life and warmth to a room. Whether you have a green thumb or not, you will certainly find the type of plants that suit you. If you are one of those who cannot keep a cactus alive, don’t dismiss the idea right away! In fact, there is a beautiful variety of artificial plants, and they are so realistic that it’s hard to tell the difference. No joke, I have been fooled before! Moreover, if you have a room that offers less natural light, fake plants will be the ideal choice. Now, you just need to determine whether you want a hanging plant, a potted one, or a wall-mounted one. Choose based on your needs. For example, if you have a large room and are looking to fill the space, a large potted plant might be what you need. Conversely, if your room is rather small, why not opt for a lovely hanging plant in the corner? Finally, if you are looking to dress up a wall, you could get wall mounts to hang several small plants (a shelf would work just as well too).
2. Candles
Candles have the power to create a cozy atmosphere, making the environment warm. Some are purely decorative, while others are also scented. There are also those that have aromatherapy properties due to the essential oils they contain. If you choose these, I recommend placing them in strategic locations. That is to say, if the candle has calming properties, it would be beneficial to place it in the bedroom or near the bath, for example. As for the other candles, you can place them pretty much anywhere, as long as it is safe, of course. For my part, I like to have them on the kitchen table, in the bedroom to create a romantic ambiance, in the bathroom because I love taking candlelit baths, and I even have one on my desk to warm up the atmosphere on rainy days.

3. Decorative cushions
Essential items! Decorative cushions dress up a room and automatically make it more inviting and comfortable. Moreover, they represent a very simple solution if you want to add a touch of color to your decor. No need to paint the walls to have a colorful decor; you can very well have neutral paint but get your color punch from your accessories, like cushions among others. Now, which ones to choose? There are a plethora of styles, sizes, colors, and designs available, which can make the choice somewhat difficult. My advice: go with your favorites and don't hesitate to mix materials. However, if there is one fabric in particular that I would recommend, it would be polyester for the simple reason that it is very easy to maintain (which you will find very practical in case of a spill). 4. The blankets, throws, or comforters
Ah, the famous cuddly toys, the perfect complement to cushions! They are essentials for creating a cozy look in the bedroom or for bringing a cozy vibe to the living room. But beyond their aesthetic aspect, both sets will ensure that you enjoy your little cocooning moments even more. There is no better choice between a blanket or a throw, in the sense that the result will be beautiful no matter which one you choose. Generally speaking, the throw is more decorative, whereas the blanket can also be decorative but is thicker, thus warmer. Now, you could decide based on the season, for example. In this case, for spring and summer, you might opt for a lighter throw, and for autumn and winter, a thicker throw. For those who feel the cold like me, the best choice would probably be a soft blanket. Integrate them into your decor by placing them at the foot of the bed and on the sofa in such a way that they don't look like they've been placed there.
5. The paintings and the frames
Just like the sofa, the bed, and the windows, the walls also need to be dressed; otherwise, the room will always seem empty. Of course, there are a multitude of options, but I will focus on two in particular, the first of which is, in my opinion, the simplest: the option of canvases/paintings. You just have to choose the one you prefer, then hang it on the wall, and that's it. Pretty easy, right? As for the second option, it requires a bit more time and creativity, but it remains very accessible and will definitely be worth it. It involves an assortment of frames of various sizes with photos or images. Obviously, you will need to get several photo frames, either matching or mismatched, why not, and then choose the images you want to put in them so that it is completely personalized. You can also choose ones that already have their own illustration, and that would be just fine too. For the arrangement of the frames, I recommend placing them on the floor and trying out several combinations before installing them on the wall. It's better to do trial and error on the ground to avoid making a lot of holes in the wall. A nice alternative would be to put up a floating shelf and simply place the frames on it. If you want to choose your images, know that there are several websites with royalty-free photos that you can download in good resolution, at low prices, and sometimes even for free.
I hope this has inspired you and that in the end, you will say that decorating is not that difficult!
